Autore

CARMEM LUSSI Religiosa missionaria scalabriniana, dirige il Centro Scalabriniano di Studi Migratori (CSEM) a Brasilia. Ha lavorato tra i migranti e i rifugiati in Italia, Germania e Repubblica Democratica del Congo. Ha studiato teologia, spiritualità, missiologia e sociologia a Milano, Roma e Urbino. È socia fondatrice della Cooperativa Interculturando, di formatori per l´intercultura e le migrazioni.

Questo studio propone un approccio ai temi della migrazione nella prospettiva della missionarietà della Chiesa. L’obiettivo è comprendere quale rapporto esista o potrebbe essere sviluppato tra la mobilità umana e le Chiese locali, quale relazione ci sia, cioè, tra i fenomeni in atto e il momento ecclesiale che viviamo, esaminando le risorse della pastorale nell’ottica dell’imperativo missionario che caratterizza la Chiesa.

In molti contesti socio-economici e politico-legislativi la mobilità umana viene percepita come un problema, un’emergenza, una minaccia all’integrazione sociale. Difficile per la società, il rapporto con il mondo della mobilità non è agevole nemmeno per la Chiesa. Il saggio intraprende una riflessione teologica e pastorale mirata ad approfondire i vari aspetti di una questione precisa e oggi cruciale: come superare uno sguardo ecclesiale alle migrazioni ristretto a finalità immediate di tipo assistenziale? come non perdere di vista la ragione ultima per cui la Chiesa si pone come interlocutrice e spazio di salvezza di fronte ed entro il fenomeno della mobilità umana? come individuare nuovi percorsi pastorali che consentano di compiere il passaggio da una prospettiva assistenziale-caritativa a una pienamente missionaria?

The Author

CARMEM LUSSI is a Scalabrinian missionary. She runs the Scalabrinian Centre of Migratory Studies (CSEM) in Brasilia. She has worked with refugees and immigrants in Italy, Germany and the Democratic Republic of Congo. She has studied theology, spirituality, missiology and sociology in Milan, Rome and Urbino. She is founder-member of the Cooperative Interculturando that deals with questions related to inter-cultures and migrations.

Description

This study offers a new approach to the themes of migration within the framework of the missionariety of the Church. The aim is to understand the relationship between human mobility and the local Churches and how this relationship could be developed. The study tries to deepen what relationship exist between the phenomena in progress and the ecclesial moment that we live in, by examining the resources of the pastoral work in the framework of the missionary duty of the Church.

In many socio-economical as well as political-legislative contexts, human mobility is perceived as a problem, an emergency, a threaten to social integration. The relationship between the different societies and the migrations is not an easy one. The Church itself finds it difficult. This essay undertakes a theological and pastoral reflection aimed at deepening the various aspects of a crucial question nowadays: how to overcome an ecclesial view over migrations often reduced to pressing charitable requests? How not losing sight of the ultimate goal of the Church which desires to be an interlocutor and offer a space of salvation to immigrants? How to find new pastoral paths that allow passing from a charitable perspective to a fully missionary one?
