S.E. Card. Crescenzio Sepe, attuale Prefetto della Congregazione per l'Evangelizzazione dei Popoli e Gran Cancelliere della Pontificia Università Urbaniana, è stato Segretario Generale del Comitato del Grande Giubileo dell’Anno 2000.

Il volume raccoglie le riflessioni esegetico-pastorali scritte per l’“Osservatore Romano” da S.E. Mons. Crescenzio Sepe, all’epoca Segretario Generale del Comitato del Grande Giubileo dell’Anno 2000, a commento dei testi biblici delle festività dell’Anno Santo.

Oltre ad essere un’abbondante miniera di riflessioni teologico-pastorali, il libro è un’eco fedele dell’evento giubilare, in quanto lascia trasparire quello che il Giubileo è stato per la Chiesa universale. Esso offre una lettura biblica contestualizzata della Parola di Dio attorno all’evento giubilare.

Dai commenti traspare, infatti, l’impronta data dal Santo Padre al Grande Giubileo, e cioè l’incontro con l’amore misericordioso di Dio. Il volume, arricchito da diverse annotazioni teologiche e filosofiche, trova ispirazione nella Parola di Dio, nei Documenti del Magistero, e in alcuni testi dei Padri della Chiesa.

I contenuti del libro vanno al di là dell’evento giubilare, per diventare patrimonio della Chiesa di oggi e di domani. Il volume, dunque, ha lo scopo di far rivivere l’eredità del Giubileo, dopo averla chiarita, approfondita ed applicata. Tra le righe, il lettore attento scorge una storia di Provvidenza, designata dallo Spirito Santo, il regista della Missione, che orienta la Chiesa sui sentieri del Terzo Millennio.

Description

The present work is a collection of the exegetic-pastorals reflections written for l’”Osservatore Romano” by the cardinal Crescenzio Sepe, when he was the general secretary of 2000 Great Jubilee Committee, as a commentary of the biblical texts of Holy year’s festivities.

The book is not only a rich source of theological-exegetic reflections, but also a faithful echo of the Jubilee, because it shows what the jubilee meant for universal church. It offers a biblical contextualized reading of God’s word around the jubilee event.

In fact, the commentaries reveals the mark which the pope gave to the Jubilee, that’s to say the meeting with God’s merciful love. The book, enriched with various theological and philosophical notes, is inspired by god’s word, by church’s teachings and by the fathers of the church’s texts.

The book overcomes the Jubilee and becomes the legacy of present and future Church. It aims at reliving the Jubilee’s heritage, by explaining, deepening and applying it. Between the lines, an attentive reader can perceive a history of providence, fixed by the holy spirit itself, which is the director of Missione, guiding the church on the paths of the Third Millennium.
