"Thank you very much for yor concern regarding our well-being and safety during the disaster on 26th Dec. 04. We in College General were fortunate because as yiu know we are in high ground. Those who are in the water-front jaust below our College were affected but not seriously due tu the goegrafical position of this part of the island of Penag. Those who were in the northern and eastern part (facing Sumatra, Indonesian) were effected, lost their homes anf fishing boats. The number dead till now remains at 68. This calamity has brought out the best in all of us - irrespective of religion or race.

Efforts are being made to reach out to the affected people and places not only Malaysia but also in Aceh (Indonesia) and Sri Lanka. Once again we like to thank you and Fr. Rector Magnificus for your prayer and concern."
