Omnes
Gentes - The student Association Omnes Gentes (O.G.) represents all
the students of the Pontifical Urbaniana University. Actually, any
student regularly enrolled is entitled to be a member of it.
As
early as May 1965, the students of this University decided to set up
an association aimed at knowing each other, making new friends and
sharing the values of their countries of origin.
As
a matter of fact, this University is also a residential house where
students spend much of the day, both for studying, research and
other academic activities.
Therefore,
the major goal of O.G. is above all that of fostering friendship and
unity among students who share the same desire of belonging to the
Urbaniana, and are not driven by individual or aimless reasons.In
this view, during the year, the association O.G. organizes various
events which become an occasion for mutual exchange and enrichment
between the the variety of traditions and cultures that are
represented.
As
said before the Association organizes various events:round tables on
academic or topical issues, visits to Rome's major places and many
more such as prayers during special times of the liturgic year,
sports tournaments and an annual group trip.However, O.G. is more
than this too: it is the voice of the students within the
University.
Their
opinions and wishes aimed at improving the life in the University
reach the competent authorities through the Association.The
Association's Council of Presidency is elected by all students for
two years. Nonetheless, anyone may co-operate and take part in the
council's meeting since , from its establishment onward, the primary
goal of the Association is to serve all students.
