Rules

 

  • It is strictly prohibited to enter the Reading Room with coats or jackets and leave them on the chairs.

  • It is strictly prohibited to take any volume or issue out of the Library. Whoever contravenes such rule will incur relevant penalties up to expulsion from the University, if needed. University and library cards will be checked upon entering and exiting the Library.

  • The absolute silence reigns in the Reading Room.

Therefore, all readers are kindly requested to avoid any kind of disturbance. It is prohibited to bring any food or drink into the Library; smoking is not allowed. The use of walkman or mobile phones is not allowed in the Library.

  • Books and reviews shall be handled with care: it is prohibited to write on or underline them. Readers may be held liable for any damage to books due to misuse.

  • Dictionaries and major reference books available in the Reading Room cannot be kept beyond the necessary time needed for consultation.

  • It is prohibited to return books and reviews taken from the Library’s shelves disorderly and/or in the wrong places.

  • Internet access is available as a tool for research, study and teaching within the University.

  • PCs must be left switched on after use.

  • It is prohibited to use the Internet and other networks for other purposes than the consultation of bibliographic material (for ex. reading any kind of news: newspapers, stock market news, etc.).

  • It is prohibited to force electronic equipment by any reason whatsoever.

  • The use of electronic mail is strictly forbidden since the local network has not been set for opening email accounts and exchanging mails.

* Penalties against whoever violates the above rules may range from temporary up to permanent expulsion from the  Library according to the gravity of violations and relapses.

The Library staff is available for anyone who would like to communicate any inconvenience or suggest improvements of the library services. Any claim or suggestion shall be addressed – in writing – to the Director of the library who shall provide a prompt answer.
