The collection of the Library of the Pontifical Urbaniana University is mainly made up by monographs. 

According to calculations, the Library shelves host about 350,000 volumes, of which about 4,000 are directly available in the reading rooms.

The Library specializes in the following disciplines:

Missiology, History of Missions, Ethnology and Anthropology, Religions, Theology (dogmatic, fundamental and moral theology), Holy Scriptures, Patristics, Ecumenism, Spirituality, Liturgy, Philosophy, Canon Law, Ecclesiastical History.

The Library has about 50,000 microfiches with documents coming from the following archives: Council for World Mission Archives, 1775-1940, Wesleyan Methodist Missionary Society (London), IMC/CBMS Archive, Primitive Methodist Missionary Society (London), The Catholic Church in Indonesia: Archives of the Archbishopric of Batavia/Jakarta 1807-1949.
